Exciting news! Two of our AFFRM filmmakers — Andrew Dosunmu (Restless City) and Ava DuVernay (Middle of Nowhere, I Will Follow) — are currently finalists for the Heineken Affinity Award! Sponsored by Tribeca Film Institute, this award was established to celebrate and create awareness and dialogue around the work of African American filmmakers. As I’m sure you know, independent filmmaking isn’t easy. It takes resources, collaboration and yes, money.
