Exciting news! Two of our AFFRM filmmakers — Andrew Dosunmu (Restless City) and Ava DuVernay (Middle of Nowhere, I Will Follow) — are currently finalists for the Heineken Affinity Award! Sponsored by Tribeca Film Institute, this award was established to celebrate and create awareness and dialogue around the work of African American filmmakers. As I’m sure you know, independent filmmaking isn’t easy.  It takes resources, collaboration and yes, money. The Affinity grand prize is $20,000.If so compelled, please rally behind Andrew and Ava in next steps of their journey.

This is a short film about two friends that after a run in with law enforcement are seperated and changed. One friend goes to live with his Uncle who is a Minister, and he begins to develope a relationship the God. The other friend moves deeper and deeper into a life of crime and becomes bitter about his friends change and starts to lash out.
